  2. If for your own personal reasons you’ve chosen to preserve a favorite car from the recent past you already know there is a need for a tool like the Actron. With out realtime data streams or OBDC at hand and the tools to access them, your last and best option will always be a reliable VOM/Dwell meter and a timeing light. When all is said and done these tools provide more setup information than most European cars useing Robert Bosch fuel management systems. I’ve paid more for these meters but never less; Im very pleased to have one for my elderly Volvo when some tuneing is at hand. Youre surprised its digital? Im surprised its still on the road after a quarter century of daily service?!Take a spin with me out on the Arctic Tundra someday and we’ll track down the north pole together some sunny summers day.Oscar

  3. Received tester today and all looks and works as advertised. Not advertised is that once you open the package and start playing with this thing, you will see a small sticker on the cord letting you know that you are now being exposed to lead! How much more would it cost to make a thing without lead in it? I, for one would pay a little more to not be living with heavy metal contamination…

  4. I used this to set my points dwell and engine RPM. Easy to use. Useful for troubleshooting most electrical problems on earlier model cars.

  5. I got this thing based on it’s reviews but I feel I should have spent more money for an OTC or entry level fluke. It feels flimsy and cheap and didn’t come with a battery. I also noticed the warning about lead on the test leads, I had anticipated this and have several spare sets of leads from different brands. NONE of them fit well so I am either stuck with leaded leads or have to look around for other leads that fit. Based on features alone this thing scores well but if you just need a simple super accurate multimeter then spend less and get a Greenlee DM-300 true rms multimeter right here on amazon for about 24 dollars. If you, like me, depend on your tools to make a living in often harsh conditions then spend the cash for a true rms OTC or fluke. If you are just tinkering with your car then this actron will do the job.
