Before we start, you need to understand what portraits are. Any photographs that you shoot of your household, friends, relations or teachers can be called portraits. Yes of course, in the beginning, portrait photography might seem to be rather difficult when compared to standard photography, but as you get more interested in it, it comes more and more easy to you.
What do you call successful portrait photography? It is actually something which builds a kind of special impression on the watchers. Now, what makes a portrait photograph stand out? It might be due to several ingredients like the physical aspects of the photograph, the subject matter, or it can even be the some other noted characteristics like the background, the light organization and so on. There are lots of great reasons why you should know how to take group pictures or family portraits. Often times, people want their picture taken on the fly and it’s not feasible to have a professional photographer take them.
Every family deserves to have at least some good family portrait together but it’s nice to have additional portraits as the family grows and ages. The best way to learn to take portraits is to practice on your own family or friends! And don’t forget to get in the picture too, if you’re taking your own family portrait! So be sure to use a camera with a remote shutter button release and a timer.
If you’re just Starting to learn photography,then taking portraits will also help refine your other photographic skills.

Were ever your look you will see food photography. We are surrounded in a sea of it. Open a magazine or newspaper and it will be there hurling its mouth watering images out at you exciting your taste buds into action.
When you first take a look into the world of food picture taking you may sense that you can never take pics like the pros but you could amaze yourself.
Light as always with photography is King. Get it right and you create magic. Get it wrong and we all know the result! Treat the food you’re photographing as you would any other still life subject and ensure that it is well lit. Most of the bad examples of food photography you will come across would have been drastically improved with adequate lighting.
One of the best places to photograph food is by a window where there is a lot of natural light – perhaps supported with flash bounced off a ceiling or wall to give more balanced lighting that cuts out the shadows. This daylight helps to keep the food looking much more natural. Read more...

Are you a serious hunter? You love hiking through the fields, along the rivers, and over the hills looking for game? Birds, deer, and other prey can move fast. One moment they are right in front of you, the next moment they are gone. If you can see them from a distance with your binoculars, you have a big advantage. Using a binocular harness strap can help you be ready, before they run for cover.
Hiking down the trails along a river can be challenging, with the overhanging branches, brush, and tall grasses. Sometimes to find the best hunting spot, you must make these treks. The journey becomes even harder when your binoculars are swinging back and forth, constantly getting in the way. You lean down to check some tracks, and your binoculars swing out in front of your face, and obscure your vision, you must move them out of the way. You want to keep your Nikon binoculars handy, because you know you might need them at any moment.
If you were using a Nikon binocular harness, your binoculars would be staying safely secured to your chest. You would be able move faster down the trail, bending over quickly, and not worrying about the binoculars. One of the many ways you can make money as a photographer is to specialise on events. Weddings, christenings, and lots of other events where people make memories can be lucrative business. The great thing is that all you need is a good digital camera, tons of memory cards, and some business cards.
How to do it
The key trick is in choosing your market slice. You must choose a slice of the market where people want to keep memories alive in print. It must also be an event that is hard to capture for a not professional so that they will need your services.
One idea is to go to kids sports events. Get permission from the coach to click pics for the parents watching and then start clicking away. If you turn up with a massive telephoto lens like the ones used for pro coverage of events, you will be taken seriously. Make sure you get all the kids doing great action shots and then hand out flyers to all the kids’ parents watching with your web address. If you can get hold of the parents email address so you can email them the URL of you site then upload the pics to your web site that day and email everyone. If you have a simple shopping cart set up you can make money in a few hours as people pop in to see the pics and buy them for $20 or more a pop. Read more...

The two most important people on a wedding day are, certainly the wedding couple. An excellent idea would be to isolate the couple from the ongoing celebrations so that the photographer can capture the beautiful intimate moments between them and create some everlasting portraits This will give the wedding couple some time away from the wedding as well.
The portrait session will give the photographer enough time to spend with the wedding couple to capture the pictures. But this does not always happen since time is rarely a luxury anyone has; on the actual day. The time taken for pictures can well vary from an hour to no time at all. It can take up to an hour for the photographer to take the pictures.

First thing you may want to learn is how to effectively use the sunlight to your advantage. As a San Diego wedding photographer this is an important skill to master since most weddings are during the day.So when it comes to daylight shots be sure that your shot is not against the light.Avoid also those bright rays of sun because it can affect the shadows.
Next tip would be about learning to effectively use the flash of the camera.The secret is to know how to distance yourself from the subject.Because taking photos of subjects far away from them might render the flash useless and your photo would turn out to be dark. To get these photographs, you need corporate photographers.
Taking professional images at an event is a highly specialized skill. Unlike many other kinds of photography, the person capturing an event has almost no control over the flow of the event or how the people react. The work involved in capturing an event requires experience and professionalism on part of the photographer and very few people can do a good job at it. Most importantly, there are no retakes for an event photographer.
Quite obviously, you have to be very cautious while choosing an event photographer to cover a corporate event. Lighting the scene
