Many people do not believe they have the ability to read faster because if they had, they already would be reading faster. And, they’ve gotten so many years of proof (like taking their current age and subtracting 4 to 6 years) and that read in the same way — yes for years!
Not only is it a well established behavior pattern, but you also firmly believe that that’s normal for you. And they also believe that if they try to read faster, they’ll lose comprehension.
Yes, too many people believe that by reading faster they’ll decrease their level of comprehension. And that’s why some people think that “Speed Reading” is not a good phrase, because they assume that people are just speeding and not reading.
To help people to be effective readers we do several things:
* Show them how to unlearn old slow habits that hold them back
* Teach you some great new techniques that will increase reading speed, data processing and quality of comprehension
* Shift from the slow reader to a reader who harvests knowledge Read more...

The Be Dynamic Through Speed Reading method, by Dr. Jay Polmar, is designed for people that read large volumes of printed material. Sometimes they get frustrated when they can’t keep up with all the intriguing literature that is released. Authors around the world produce printed data and fiction, at a rate so phenomenal, that even the most avid of readers struggle to keep up. With our DYNAMIC SPEED READING method, you’ll easily be able to read twice to three times the amount you now read in the same time.
The human brain/mind is capable of comprehending and cataloging from 10,000 to 50,000 units of information every minute (one unit being equal to one word) and this is based upon old statistics. Based on new technology in education and strides in self-development, your brain/mind is capable of much more.
The human body is a vehicle that records various senses and transfers them to our brain/mind. The brain/mind acts like a computer. Perhaps the brain/mind is the body’s operational computer to make easier for us to learn. We learn through information (data) that is transmitted in many ways. We receive data through our five physical senses, and our brain/mind makes decisions, choices and judgments from those factors. Read more...

ACCELERATED PACING METHOD:
Hand movements can cause improvement of reading speed. Now I’ll introduce to you the well-known pacing movement. It uses your index finger of your dominant hand, i.e. right handed use right hand, to scan a line by running your finger under the type you are reading. Always turn the page with the unused, non-dominant hand. Don’t move your head, keep it still.
It’s simple. Just replace all your bad reading habits with one easily learned one: You’ll use your pacing hand. It breaks each of these habits automatically while it increases your reading speed.

You already own the greatest reading acceleration device that has ever been developed. It is simply your hand that will help you read faster. People have spent thousands of dollars attempting to increase their reading speed. But no inventions or machines can do what your hand and your pacing finger can do for you to improve your reading speed — once youve been trained in our 4 special techniques.
What do your eyes do while you are “trying” to read? If you’re like most people, your eyes are jerking around, looking, searching, and bouncing here and there. Then they will fixate for a second or two and maybe move on again causing your brain to wonder what you’re doing. Sound familiar? Untrained readers go through this often.
Untrained readers experience this al lot. By learning speed reading, which includes the speed-pacing movement, you’ll learn how to control and then accelerate your coordination related to reading. A pacing technique, from the Evelyn Wood collection, is taught in Speed Reading in Only One Hour – and it’s going to increase your reading speed 50% in less than 10 minutes. Read more...

The mind is an extraordinary power of which we only use a very small portion. In our book, “Speed Reading in only One Hour” we will show you how to tap some of that unused power and use it for your personal success in high school, college, and life.
Your brain is capable of understanding from 10,000 – 50,000 units of data per minute; one unit equals one word. This information is based upon old statistics (1980’s). Based on recently developed speed reading technology, and strides in brain and mind development, you can achieve even greater reading speeds.
In the US the average HS grad, when tested, reads about 250 words per minute. The average US college student reads at an average of about 300 words per minute. But, no matter what your starting reading speed when you are tested, don’t worry, it is only the beginning. Can you imagine what an advantage you will have to be able to read over 100% faster than you had before? 200% 300% — The possibilities are limitless. Read more...

The worlds most famous speed reading course is Reading Dynamics developed by Evelyn Wood. It’s famous for teaching people to read faster, or speed reading as she called it. Her live course was the first known course that taught students to read faster and it started with about 25 hours of training to double your reading speed.
Over time the method was made available all over the world. These well practiced techniques teach students to read more rapidly, and also comprehend more of what they are reading. These techniques have proven to be repeatedly effective with all ages in many countries all over the world.
There are many stories about how Evelyn Wood first learned speed read. My personal favorite was that she, as a child, was fishing at a nearby lake in Utah where she was living. To Evelyn, fishing was a relaxing necessity, but her mind was always active.
When fishing, she took a book to read until she saw that the float on the fishing line was bobbing. Then shed reel in the fish. It was said that she read with the sun at her back for natural light, and used her index finger on her dominant hand to track under the words she was reading. Read more...
